The Sand Bothy is a small community building run by Belhelvie Community Trust volunteers, to benefit the local community and visitors to Balmedie Country Park and its wonderful Beach

The Sand Bothy is a unique small building at the entrance to Balmedie Country Park, with its heathland, impressive dunes system and beautiful beach, an ever changing landscape.

The Sand Bothy has 3 main areas:

- A kiosk which serves hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice-cream.
- A space for small groups, clubs, meetings and workshops.
- A permanent exhibition about the natural features and history of Balmedie Country Park and Beach
