Elgin Library is a member of the VisitScotland Information Partner (VIP) Scheme. A limited range of Visit Scotland (VS), What to See and Do brochures, mainly around The Highland area are provided for information. A local town map is available along with a selection of leaflets for local attractions. Lists of useful local information are available on request if leaflets are unavailable. A list of local accommodation is provided and customers wishing to check availability can do so online. We do not provide an accommodation booking service. The VIP is open during library opening hours, Monday to Friday 10am to 8pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm throughout the year. There is a selection of gifts for sale. Free internet access is available for visitors providing the appropriate ID and there is free WiFi access. Please take time to visit Cobbs café based in the library which sells a range of sandwiches, soup, cakes, teas and coffees.
Elgin Library is also the location for the Local Heritage Service for Moray offering a fascinating insight to Moray's history and to ancestry searches. This service is part of Visit Scotland’s Ancestral Welcome Scheme.
