Tree-ditions Woodland Crafts School provides Bushcraft, Survival, Primitive Technology, Green Woodworking and Coppice Crafts Courses. Come and immerse yourself in nature in our woods while learning traditional woodsman skills.
For around 100,000 years modern Homo sapiens have lived as part of the environment. It has only been the last few of hundred that we’ve evolved and utilised modern technologies. So I’d argue that we are intrinsically hard wired to the natural environment.
Tree-ditions allows you the time and space to re connect to nature through teaching you the skills used by our ancestors to live in what we would term the wilderness. By making the time to come on one of our courses you will have fun but learn to extend your time outdoors in relative comfort using the materials around you. Some of our courses contain plant and tree identification, fire and shelter making, how to find and make water safe for drinking, how to safely use Bushcraft tools. You can also learn how to make rustic furniture like stools and chairs using tree-ditional green woodworking skills or learn coppice crafts.
Our courses are run from our woodland camp close to Dunbar and the John Muir Way.
