Located in the centre of Aberfeldy, Perthshire, The Watermill covers three floors of a converted oatmeal mill. It was opened by Michael Palin in 2005, the bookshop has the largest range of titles in the Scottish Highlands and has been awarded UK Independent Bookshop of the Year.
The bookshop stocks over 5,000 titles covering all tastes and interests. They boast a wide range of books and maps for outdoor activities and younger readers are well catered for in the dedicated children’s book room.
On the top floor, the changing displays in the art gallery feature modern and contemporary paintings and sculptures that draw inspiration from landscapes and the elements.
Browse the music department which stocks a variety of CDs and sheet music and the homeware store sells a wide range of decorative accessories and unique pieces of vintage furniture.
The café serves a choice of coffees from a traditional Italian coffee machine, fine loose leaf teas, light snacks and cakes. On a summer's day, visitors can sit on the terrace with one of their smoothies which are made using the finest local berries. The Watermill use locally sourced, organic and fair-traded products to ensure the best quality.
