Designer maker of original felt. I specialise in hats, both everyday and special occasion, and wraps but also make felt paintings and decorative vessels. Because of the nature of the process, all work is individual, unique. Much of my work is on commission and everything can be made to order according to your colour specification and size required. I work mainly with merino as I find that this is suitable for a wider audience and it creates a beautifully soft and tactile felt. I do use native fleece but only in art pieces where it is not going to be worn.
Alongside this I run workshops on both an organised and bespoke basis, either for small groups 1 - 4 in my studio or in the local village hall (a particularly nice one with lovely views over the loch) for larger numbers perfect if you are planning a holiday and want to do something a little bit different. These are all fully catered with homemade cake, soup and bread and provide the participants with free access to my supplies of fleece, a very happy moment for textile lovers. These are ideal if you are a visitor as you can create your own special memory to take away including the possibility of making something to co-ordinate with the family tartan if desired.
