Loch Ness Knitting is a small family owned business based in the village of Drumnadrochit near Loch Ness.
We sell hand dyed yarn for knitting, crochet, weaving and crafting. The yarn dye is made using materials that have been sustainably sourced from the local Loch Ness area. This includes repurposing food waste from the local cafes and plants from the Loch Ness woodlands. We focus on dyeing British yarn and supporting other Highland yarn businesses via our Highland Yarn Guide Book. Our own range of Loch Ness Yarn is sustainabily sourced from farms and crofts withn 12 miles of Loch Ness shores, it is then milled in Scotland before returning home to be hand dyed.
Owner Dwynwen is passionate about sustainability and has written several books to help you try these dye methods at home. Workshops and demonstrations are also available at various times throughout the year.
