Situated just off the High Street and close to the River Tay and the North Inch park, Provender Brown is the perfect place to grab some goodies before heading off for a picnic. This wonderful shop is crammed full of speciality food and drink from all over the world but has a particularly large selection of Scottish produce from small producers, such as Strathearn Cheese, Dunkeld Smokery salmon, Charles Macleod Stornoway black pudding, Brodies tea, Shortbread House of Edinburgh, Great Glen Charcuterie and Abernyte Brewery beers, to name but a few. Scottish produce includes cheeses, ham, bacon, sausages, pies, patés, quiches, Stornoway black pudding, yoghurt, biscuits, shortbread, cakes, chocolate, confectionery, oatmeal, preserves, smoked salmon & trout, smoked meats & game, salami, whisky, gin, vodka, rum, soft drinks and even local wine.
The friendly staff are knowledgeable and helpful and will happily guide you through the range, offering tasting samples along the way. They can also help put together picnics or hampers.
There is no café but they offer cake, tea , coffee, hot chocolate and all sort of other delicious goodies on a take-away basis.
