Since 1987, Rob Elliot has built on the experience of a life around timber to design furniture using only locally grown Elm.
Rob works mainly in Wych Elm and makes a point of using only trees that have died naturally, ensuring no living trees are felled to make this furniture. His furniture includes dining tables of differing styles as well as side chairs and carvers, beds, dressers, cabinets, rocking chairs, mirrors, desks, chest of drawers, coffee and occasional tables.
Bringing his skills to the natural beauty of the wood, Rob Elliot has succeeded in producing furniture to be treasured; furniture sought after by householder and connoisseur alike. It is difficult to stand next to a piece of Rob’s warm inviting furniture and not touch it!
His "Conception Cabinet" was judged “Most Popular Work of 1999" in the prestigious "Visual Arts Scotland" exhibition at The Royal Scottish Academy.
Rob Elliot’s workshop is located in Selkirk and work can be viewed at his onsite showroom
