Sheila Kerr creates her award winning jewellery in her studio using traditional techniques. She is inspired by the landscapes and literature of Scotland and her studio window looks out over the harbour (a haven for birds and flora/fauna) over to the Isle of Arran. Sheila’s studio is one of 17 artist’s studios within the Courtyard. The harbour area has been restored and is perfect for a walk to the beach and dunes. There are several small cafes and restaurants within minutes of the Sheila Kerr Jewellery Studio.
Visit the studio and see where Sheila creates her jewellery - her workbench, the tools and processes used and the selection of jewellery pieces on display and available to purchase. Many pieces are inspired by Scotland with the ‘Ae Fond Kiss’ collection in particular, inspired by Robert Burns - Scotland’s national bard. In fact, Robert Burns worked in the flax industry in the harbour area for a few months prior to writing and publishing his poetry.
Sheila’s work is available to buy online via her website and a bespoke design service is also offered both online and by appointment at the studio.
