The award winning Hirsel Gallery currently exhibits over 50 artisans mainly drawn from the wealth of talent in the Scottish Borders and Northumberland and offers an extensive and diverse range of affordable contemporary crafts.
Set in the craft centre in the heart of the beautiful Hirsel country estate, the Hirsel Gallery specialises in original, handmade, contemporary craft work, and has a changing exhibition space to highlight selected artists. The emphasis is on high quality craftsmanship and individuality and as the exhibitors and work change regularly there are always new and exciting pieces to enjoy.
Art lovers, visitors and collectors can chose from dozens of crafts from weaving to woodwork, painting to photography, glass, jewellery, sculpture and much more. Prices start from just a few pounds for a souvenir of your visit to investment pieces for a special occasion.
Visitors will not only find inspiration in the beautiful work for sale but the gallery also co-ordinates a programme of craft classes run by various exhibiting artists which roll out throughout the year.
The Gallery is within a craft centre which is home to four craft workshops including Maggie and Julia, a jeweller and glass designer respectively, who run the gallery, a potter and a fine artist. There is also a café and farm shop, museum and children's play area which makes visiting the Hirsel a lovely way to spend a few hours or even a whole day.
