Join us on this Skye and Highlands Experience Tour departing from the heart of Glasgow City Centre. The tour includes many scenic delights such as Glenfinnan, Eilean Donan Castle the Isle of Skye, Loch Ness, Culloden Battlefield and so much more.
We depart promptly from 266 George Street in Glasgow at 7am and make our way up to Fort William. On this journey we will be able to make short comfort stops at Loch Lomond, Loch Tulla Viewpoint and Glencoe whilst enjoying the commentary from the guide about the area's history and stories.
For those not taking part in the Jacobite Steam Train Experience, you will enjoy the route to Mallaig where you will see the breathtaking scenery of Loch Shiel and Loch Nam Uamh. We will also stop and see the Glenfinnan Viaduct and the Monument to Bonnie Prince Charlie which is a very worthwhile experience for Harry Potter and History fans alike.
Please note for those taking the Jacobite Steam Train , you will need to purchase your tickets in advance. You will be dropped off at 9.50am at Fort William and meet the tour again at Mallaig.
Once at Mallaig, we will all meet back up for some lunch such as fish and chips which we eat on the pier. We will then catch the ferry to Skye. Once on Skye, we will bring you to your accommodation passing the Torabhaig Distillery. (Suggested accommodation anywhere in Portree, early booking is strongly advised).
We will collect you from your accommodation and make our way to the home of the MacLeods at Dunvegan Castle (not included and in Summer Timetable only). We will them head for Talisker Distillery for a quick stop and tasting (not included) and then on to the Fairy Pools and Neist Point. There are several options for lunch on this route but a real favourite is the Oyster Shack and the Carbost Inn by Talisker distillery. This day may be switched around in case of bad weather and or traffic conditions. We will then all make our way back to your accommodations where the tour will close.
You will check out early of your accommodation and continue on a half day morning tour of Skye which includes photo and rest stops at the Old Man of Storr, Lealt Falls, Kilt Rock and the Quiraing. If there is enough time, we will also continue towards Uig where you can visit the Skye Brewery and a trip to the Fairy Glen. We will then return to Portree where you can enjoy some free time. Afterwards, we will set our sights for Inverness passing Fort Augustus, Glen Shiel and Eilean Donan Castle on the way. We will then drop you off at your Inverness accommodations where the tour will end.
Check out of your accommodation and make way for your morning Loch Ness Cruise (not included) which ends at Urquhart Castle. We will then make our way the 4000 year old Clava Cairns and then Culloden Battlefield where you will enjoy a tour (not included). Culloden is a great place to have a quick lunch. We will then continue onward to Glasgow making a rest stop at Pitlochry. We should be back in Glasgow for 8pm (traffic depending).
