Pitmedden Garden, Aberdeenshire
A Wee Selection of the North East
Tolquhon Castle - initially built as a tower house in the early 1400's. Glen Garioch Distillery - one of Scotland's oldest operating distilleries. Pitmedden Garden - a beautiful, tranquil gem laid out in the French formal style
This tour gives a real flavour of what Scotland has to offer, visiting three very different locations and experiences.
Tolquhon Castle began life as a tower house in the early 1400's. In 1584, Sir William Forbes incorporated the tower house into the castle that now stands at Tolquhon.
Glen Garioch Distillery is situated in the historic market town of Oldmeldrum and has been operating since 1797. It is one of the smallest operating distilleries in Scotland.
Pitmedden Garden and Museum of Farming Life is a delight to stroll around. Its box parterres contains over 30,000 bedding plants. The walled garden has magnificent herbaceous borders and a superb collection of Scottish heritage apples.
