WHAT TO EXPECT

  • You leave Edinburgh and travel to the Scottish Borders. This area of Scotland boasts beautiful landscapes, fascinating history, and the flourishing textile industry.
  • Start the day surrounded by Scottish Cashmere in Hawick, the world capital of cashmere. You will find the rarest yarns in the world behind Hawick’s industrial frontage. Here, lambswool from Australia and cashmere from Tibet is knitted into luxurious garments that grace the catwalks across the world. Pick up some tips for next season’s colours as well as designer collections at reduced prices.
  • Next, have a dram of whisky or gin at the Borders Distillery to recover after your shopping spree. Located in a landmark building in the centre of town, this new distillery brings the production of single malt back to the Scottish Borders.
  • Once you are shopped out, it’s time for fine dining. You go to the Schloss Roxburgh House Hotel for a long and lazy lunch. An amazing meal made with local, sustainable and traditional ingredients is a perfect way to end an indulgent day.
  • History, foodie facts, secrets and surprises along the way.

Tour company information

Scottish Food and Drink Trails

Unique Food and Drink tours and experiences, highlighting Scottish food and drink producers, throughout Scotland leaving from Edinburgh. We take you to meet Scottish food and drink heroes who make their products with a lot of passion. On our tours you will get to taste and saviour food and drink made by them. You will also see beautiful scenery and come up close with history too. Our tours and experiences are small and can be bespoke. We like it that way as our presence will not disturb our much-loved producers’ life or impact on the landscape we love and want to share with you.

Opening times

We are currently unable to run tours due to Covid -19 restrictions. We will not start operating again until April 2021, hopefully. However the office is manned and open Monday to Friday 9am till 6pm.
