Castle Law & the Abernethy Round Tower
A tour of the hillfort of Castle Law and the local church in Abernethy
The tour begins at the Inn Close Car Park and from there we head along the Nethy Burn up to the hillfort of Castle Law. On the way, there is a viewpoint from which other hillforts can be seen across the Earn and Tay rivers. Once we reach the hillfort, I will explain details of its construction and tell a folk tale about with a nearby pond.
From there, we will descend the hillfort to the Kirk of St Bride, which includes a round tower, a Pictish stone and a plaque commemorating a battle between the Scots and William the Conqueror. The tour will be concluded there.

Lowland Heritage Tours
Come along on one (or two) of my guided tours of an Iron Age hillfort; you will be treated to a healthy hike up to one the many ancient strongholds that dot the landscape, while I tell you tales of Scotland's past at the dawn of history. Questions are welcome and encouraged and as I have MA in archaeology and over a decade of research experience, I would be thrilled to share with you what I have learned about those mysterious times in this country's past. Aside from currently available tours, I would also take requests for other hillforts of your choice with at least a week's notice.
