Coastal tour of the North East of Scotland
Look forward to a memorable journey along the coast through small villages, harbours, beaches and cliff tops.
From the lovely harbour of Stonehaven through Aberdeen harbour, the coastline of the North-East has a wide variety of scenes and walks to do. The Nature reserve at Newburgh with it’s seal colony is a must for nature watchers. Further North we come to the little village of Cruden Bay, with a lovely beach and new Slains castle a short walk along the cliff top.
Further along we pass the fishing ports of Fraserburgh and Peterhead and head towards the village and harbour of Pennan, made famous by the 1983 movie Local Hero with Burt Lancaster. The film told the story of an American oil company representative who is sent to the fictional village of Ferness, to purchase it and the surrounding land, for his company.
