Craig Fonvuick & Pass of Killiecrankie (half day)

This is a fantastic half-day walk up Craig Fonvuick with excellent views and then through the stunning Pass of Killiecrankie.

This super half-day walk starts and finishes at the Garry Bridge car park, which is about two miles from Pitlochry. We walk to Tenandry Kirk and then up a lovely path to Craig Fonvuick (413m) - a super viewpoint. On the way, we pass some old ruined homesteads. After admiring the great views from the summit of Craig Fonvuick, we descend to the little village of Killiecrankie. We then follow a path down to the famous Soldier's Leap and into the Pass of Killiecrankie. This gorge is named after the "shimmering woods of aspen" - it's a lovely wooded gorge that is particularly scenic in the autumn. There is an opportunity to call into the visitor centre for refreshments here.

The walk follows mainly good paths and tracks, and a minor road. The walk is 8km with a total ascent of 400m and will take approx 4 hours. We run the walk in the morning (starting at 930am) or the afternoon (starting at 1pm).

You will need to bring with you a pair of good trekking shoes or boots, waterproofs, a small rucksack, some warm spare clothing, hand sanitiser, a face mask and something to eat and drink. Children over the age of 12 are welcome on this walk but they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

The walk will be private and is available for a group of up to 8 people through our online booking system. If you have a larger group, please contact us to discuss. The price for 1-2 people is £120, for 3-4 people it is £150 and for 5-8 people it is £180. For further information, including terms & conditions, please visit our website at: https://www.perthshiretreks.scot/half-day-walks-near-Pitlochry.
