Tour Dates

15th - 17th October 2021

14th - 16th October 2022

Wild Discovery has teamed up with eguide Scotland to bring you a new, adventurous style of wildlife watching on full-suspension mountain ebikes

Low-carbon transport takes you further than you can get on foot.

Join Dan & Rachael as they guide you through spectacular landscapes in search of eagles, grouse, Red Deer, Mountain Hares, migrating geese and many more species.

Our ‘eSafari’ Wildlife Adventure Weekends have a selection of routes of varying lengths depending on the conditions on the day.

Our base for the weekend will be Howe of Torbeg who provide the perfect set up to rest weary legs. They have 4 Glamping Pod's and a Shepherd's Hut, each with their own Kadai firebowl, in the gorgeous Glen Gairn. There is also an indoor wood-burning stove in the shared 'Snug' if the weather turns cool in the evening.

Day 1, Fri

Friday evening, arrive at accommodation (check in between 3-6pm).

7pm Wee Studio Meet & Greet on site. Meet the eSafari team and your fellow adventurers in the Wee Studio. We will give you an introduction to your ebikes, an overview of the wildlife of the eastern Cairngorms and our intended routes over the weekend.

Days 2 & 3, Sat & Sun

Our routes over these two days will take you through some of the best Caledonian woodland in Scotland, over heather-clad moors, along meandering rivers and through glacial glens. We will keep the exact routes flexible to make the most of the weather conditions on the day.

We stand a good chance of seeing Golden Eagles soaring over the glens and potentially White-tailed Eagles, Goshawks and Merlins whilst Black and Red Grouse are both likely to be encountered. Red and Roe Deer roam the moors and woodlands and in October we also hope to witness the Red rutt where males come together to fight it out for the females. In October the autumn leaves can look spectacular and the understory of the forests are often peppered with fungi. Bird migration is often in full swing and skeins of Pink-footed Geese may be headed south whilst the first Redwings and Fieldfares will be arriving into Deeside from Scandinavia.

Expect to be out for 6 - 8 hours each day, mostly in the saddle but we will be stopping frequently to look at different species or points of interest.

Tour ends mid-afternoon Sunday.

The minimum number of guests required for this eSafari to run is 5. The maximum number of guests is 10.
