Itinerary

Sunday 3-4pm – Pick up at a location of your choice in Inverness and depart for Ullapool to catch the ferry across to Stornoway. Your guide will assist you in all aspects of your ferry journey. During the two and half hour journey get to know your fellow travelers over an evening meal. You may even catch a glimpse of whales and dolphins as you cross the minch! You will arrive at Hidden House Hebrides at 9.30pm, giving you time to settle in and prepare for 5 days of touring.

Monday – enjoy a relaxed continental breakfast before being collected by your guide at 9am. You will journey in our minivan to the Westside and North coast of Lewis. During the day you will visit the Port of Ness, the lighthouse at the Butt of Lewis, Arnol blackhouse, the Whalebone arch, Gearrannan village, Carloway broch, Callanish stones and the Flannan Isles Exhibition. Our guide will take you for lunch at a restaurant specially chosen by us. Return to your accommodation early evening, where you can chose to either prepare your evening meal in our large and well-equipped kitchen or take advantage of our courtesy shuttle into the town of Stornoway (times arranged to suit the entire group).

Tuesday – You will journey in our minivan to the Uig and Bernera areas of Lewis. You will visit Bosta beach and the Iron age house in Bernera before visiting the spectacular beaches of Uig, including Ardroil beach where the world famous Lewis Chessmen were discovered. You will also visit the Uig museum and our guide will take you for lunch at a restaurant specially chosen by us. Return to your accommodation early evening, where you can chose to either prepare your evening meal in our large and well-equipped kitchen or take advantage of our courtesy shuttle into the town of Stornoway (times arranged to suit the entire group).

Wednesday – You will visit Tiumpanhead lighthouse in the Point area of Lewis, one of the best spots for whale and dolphin on Lewis. You will then take in the wonders of the medieval ruined church St Columbas Ui before visiting the Iolaire monument just outside of Stornoway. Our guide will take you for lunch at a restaurant specially chosen by us. You will then have the rest of the day to explore Stornoway at your leisure. Return to your accommodation early evening, where you can chose to either prepare your evening meal in our large and well-equipped kitchen or take advantage of our courtesy shuttle into the town of Stornoway (times arranged to suit the entire group).

Thursday – Today you will then visit the Isle of Harris. Visit some of the beautiful beaches voted the best in the world, St Clements church in Rodel and tour the world famous Harris distillery and enjoy a taste of their fine gin. Our guide will take you for lunch at a restaurant specially chosen by us. Return to your accommodation early evening, where you can chose to either prepare your evening meal in our large and well-equipped kitchen or take advantage of our courtesy shuttle into the town of Stornoway (times arranged to suit the entire group).

Friday –  An early start as you will be collected from your accommodation at 5.30am in order to catch the ferry from Tarbet to Uig, Isle of Skye. Your guide will assist you with all aspects of your ferry journey and you can also enjoy a full breakfast on us during your one and a half hour trip. Once you arrive in Uig you will travel through the island to visit some of the best attractions Skye has to offer as well as taking in the breathtaking scenery. You will visit Armadale castle and museum, Talisker distillery and Eilean Donan castle. Then you will drive back to Inverness, stopping off at the Loch ness centre to have a go at monster spotting! Our guide will take you for lunch at a restaurant specially chosen by us and you will be dropped off at a location of your choice in Inverness late afternoon.

We are a local family run business providing both self-catering accomodation in our typical hebridean croft house 'Hidden House Hebrides' as well as small group tours of the Hebridean islands of Lewis, Harris and Skye. Our tours are inclusive of all travel to and from Inverness, entrance tickets and half board. Tour our wonderful islands with us and let our knowledgeable gaelic speaking guides look after your every need. In the winter months we also offer retreats and the chance for you to enjoy the wild and wonderful weather of the hebrides in our cosy home to help inspire your creativity.
