The remote Island of Iona has been sacred for millennia, and since St Columba founded a monastery there in the 6th century to spread Christianity to Scotland, this tiny dot in the Atlantic has been an important site of pilgrimage and prayer.
This magical green isle surrounded by tranquil blue waters attracts pilgrims to this day who make the journey for spiritual reasons, but its remote tranquillity, with a gorgeous historic abbey and sweeping views, captures the hearts of all those who make the effort to visit.
