Isle of Skye tours
There are 2 amazing tours to choose from when it comes to seeing the beautiful sights of the Isle of Skye.
If you prefer to get out in nature and hike a little then the magical fairy pools are for you. There are many pools to explore and its up to you how much you hike and see in the hour and a half stop that you have there. If you are brave enough you can even go for dip in the refreshing Scottish water that runs off the mountains and is collected in the beautiful nature made pools.
If you prefer to sit in the comfort of the climate controlled vehicle while your experienced tour guide shows you the breath taking sights and hidden gems only the locals know about while you learn the history and locals stories then the kilt rock tour is more suited for you, there is still plenty of time for you to get out the vehicle and stretch your legs. The stop at kilt rock is stunning and it feels like your at the edge of the world with the magnificent cliff face that looks like a kilt complete with a running waterfall on the side.
Both tours are fantastic and include ample photo opportunities and stops along the way. Some of the spectacular sights and stops along the way are the historic Urquhart castle ruins which sit on the edge of loch ness which we also make another stop at to get you one of the best pictures with the castle in the back ground. The stunning Loch Cluanie before going on to the most iconic castle of the Highlands, Eilean Donan Castle. here we have a full hour stop and where you can take tour around and when you have finished soaking in the history of the castle you can enjoy the superb picnic lunch we have set up for you including bucks fizz. All our food is locally sourced and supports other small businesses in the area. There are many more amazing stops along the way including the five sisters and Loch Carron, but we wouldn't want to give it all away… trust in your guide to show you all the magical places not everyone knows about, and we will try our best to make your day with us a real dream come true.
One of the popular ships excursions that we offer is the stunning scenery of the outskirts of the capital of the Highlands, Inverness. Some of the places that we visit area featured in the well known outlander books.
We start the day by collecting you from the ship at Invergorden and proceed onto the Beauly Priory which is full of history. Following on to the ruins of Urquhart Castle and then the mysterious Loch Ness. We then proceed to Fort George, on to the romantic Cawdor castle. The split stones at Clava Cairns is next on the agenda and finishing at Culloden battle field before returning back to the ship in time for dinner.
We factor in a stop for food in all of our tours and we try our best to cater for everyones dietary requirements and requests when recommended the best places to stop.
The Hiking tour is a brand new adventure added just this year. It is the product of our lovely guide, Mark Craven’s passion and dreams and he's really brought it to life. He loves the great outdoors and loves showing it off even more. He has grown up exploring the areas around Inverness and has put together the most amazing Walking tour we have ever had the pleasure of being a part of.
This is a seven hour tour leaving Inverness at 10am, where you will be driven to the scenic Plodda Falls. There we will stop for an hour and allow you time for a good walk and explore of the woods taking in the beautiful waterfalls and the quiet Scottish woodlands surrounding them. Following this, we take the short drive to Glen Affric where we will stop for a packed lunch on the banks of the River Affric, before walking the woodland trails around the beautiful Dog Falls and the rapids of the River Affric. Return to Inverness via the Cask Of Aigas and along the side of the Beauly Firth allowing for some stunning views of the Kessock Bridge arriving back in Inverness for 4pm.
This tour requires study footwear and waterproof clothing as the weather is unpredictable in the Highlands.
Are you stopping in Inverness just for a night before going off on your next adventure and think you have seen everything that Inverness has to offer because you past Loch Ness on your way in? You couldn't be further then the truth!
Join us on a stunning 3 hours evening tour to explore the surrounding areas of inverness and we will show you the what amazing things that Inverness truly have to offer.
We will collect you at 6.30pm, so you still have time for dinner, before heading off to get the best picture of Loch Ness that only the locals know how to achieve with the historic ruins of Urquhart Castle in the back ground, which is our next stop to make sure you get a closer look at the Castle. From there we go though to the iconic Beauly Priory which is rich with history. A tour around Inverness wouldn't be complete without a visit to the standing stones at Clava Cairns. The last stop in the Itinerary is the Intense Culloden Battlefield where you can still feel the emotions of the great events that took part here. Arriving back in town at 9.30pm, in time for an early night to set you up for your next adventure. Or a couple of drinks to bathe in the lovely Scottish atmosphere.
