Your travel consultant and private guide will recommend and adjust distilleries and stops along the way based on your interests.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN EDINBURGH
Upon your arrival in Edinburgh, you will be greeted by a private driver who will take you to your hotel in the city centre. For those arriving early in the day, we recommend spending the afternoon walking through the city and exploring the Old Town and New Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are also plenty of museums and landmarks to visit within the city centre, including the majestic Edinburgh Castle. You could also start your whisky tour by visiting the largest private collection of whisky at the Scotch Whisky Experience.
Spend the night in Edinburgh.
DAY 2: TOWARDS THE WEST COAST
Today your private tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in a comfortable vehicle. You'll then journey to the west coast, passing through some stunning landscapes along the way. You'll drive through the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, stopping at the picturesque town of Inveraray. You can take some time to visit its fairy-tale castle or its well-stocked Fyne Whisky Shop. Later, you'll board a ferry bound for Islay. Don't miss the beautiful views as you journey to the Hebridean isle.

DAY 3: ISLAY'S SOUTH COAST
Today, you'll discover the south coast and peninsula of Islay. This region is home to three of the smokiest distilleries on the island, Lagavulin, Laphroaig and Ardbeg. You can pick which ones you want to visit. Your guide will also take you to see the peat bogs, from which Islay's peaty flavour comes from. Later, you can spend some time admiring the Kildalton Cross and wandering around the picturesque Port Ellen beach.
Spend another night on Islay.
Driving distance: 64 km / 40 miles
Average travel & exploring duration: estimated 8-9 hours
DAY 4: NORTH ISLAY
You have another full day on Islay, this time taking in the views of the northern parts of the island. The distilleries located here, including Bunnahabhain, Bruichladdich and Ardnahoe, have more subtle and coastal tones compared to yesterday's peaty hits. Choose from the six distilleries of the area to create your ideal tasting day. Other highlights of today's itinerary include visiting the Islay Woollen Mill to learn about traditional weaving and taking a scenic walk along the beautiful Machir Beach.
