Kirkwall Walks with Graham
Do you know the story of Kirkwall, my home town, spans a thousand years? Join me for a guided walk, where we can explore together the history and culture of Kirkwall’s ancient streets, as well as pick up tales of Kings and Earls, Pirates and Witches.
Why take a tour with Graham? As a local “Kirkwallian”, and with nearly 20 years experience working in Orkney as a high school History teacher, I am uniquely placed to share my passion for and knowledge of Kirkwall with you. We will start at the harbour and make our way into the narrow streets of the Old Burgh where you will hear stories about Viking Earls and the dreaded Press Gangs. You will hear about the epic Ba game which is played through the streets of Kirkwall each Christmas and New Years day. The tour will end with a guided tour of the magnificent St Magnus Cathedral.
