This guided day tour to Lendrick Hill and Dam+ has little extras, like a visit to a huge boulder and a Roman fort. Walking uphill through the forest, along hill ledges where the Autumn colours of the Trossachs will amaze you!

This Guided Tour to Glen Finglas in the Trossachs will be walked over the Autumn and Winter months, where the colours of the Trossachs will leave you with great memories. Once picked up from Stirling train station it's on our way to Glen Finglas. But first we visit Samson's Stone and the Iron Age Fort. Samson's Stone is a huge boulder that sits on its own on top of a hill in the Trossachs, it's said that Samson's Stone was left there by giants from a throwing competition, you know, back in the day! Or was it left by the glaciers during the ice age? Who knows! Not far from Samson's Stone sits the Iron age Fort, a little history, although it's hard to see any foundations it still makes for a point of interest and gives a good view of the Loch and Callandar. Passing most of Loch Venachar we reach Glen Finglas car park, from here we take a walk up the Lendrick Hill and Dam Walk, this is a looped walk bringing us back to the car park and takes about 3 hours to do, but it's lunch time first, at the van we will have our pieces,(sandwiches), homemade soup, snacks, tea, coffee or hot chocolate before heading up the hill. On the way up it's a bit steep as we walk through some forest passing the ruins of Drippan farm, an old farmstead, the views start to open up over Loch Venachar as we near the top. Reaching Lendrick Hill's ledge, and not far away sits a nice waterfall which has a path to a view point. Leaving the waterfall and over a little bridge as the path heads up a slope giving you some great views of the lower woodlands of Glen Finglas, the path continues for a bit bending round the hill slowly revealing some stunning views of the Trossachs as you go. Coming off the hill ledge and walking down the twisting private road with the reservoir coming into view, the dam is not far from here where we can get a better view of the dam and the reservoir, just before reaching the dam there's another wee waterfall called Ruskin Viewpoint, there was a famous painting taken from here along with a love triangle. Walking back to the carpark we can have another bite to eat, tea, coffee, whatever before doing another little walk - The Druim walk which is a 40 minute walk with some pleasant views along the way, for this part you might need your wellies as in the winter months it can get really boggy to start with. The Druim walk is also a looped walk and back to the van we head for the journey home dropping you back off at Stirling train station.
