Your chauffeur guide will take you to the city's most iconic locations, landmarks and museums, providing local knowledge and commentary throughout. Allow Little's 52 years of experience to showcase the very best of our capital city.

We would start the tour in the New Town, the largest Georgian development in the world dating from the 18th and early 19th century, covering 1 square mile and 11,000 listed properties. Notable buildings within this area include St Mary’s Cathedral, the Georgian House in Charlotte Square and West Register House. At the opposite end of George Street lies St Andrew Square, which marks the start of the development of the New Town in 1767.

From here you could then head to Edinburgh Castle for your tour of one of the most famous landmarks in the world. Sitting on top of a volcanic plug the earliest establishment is thought to have been on the site as early as the Iron Age. It was first recorded as a Royal residence in the 11th century and it has progressed from then to become the most visited attraction in Scotland, now under the care of Historic Scotland.

We would then explore the Royal Mile – the stretch of road from the Castle drawbridge to the gates of the Palace of Holyroodhouse. This part of Edinburgh is known as the old town and you will notice a clear difference in the architectural style of the buildings from the New Town. Notable attractions here include Gladstone’s Land, an original 17th century merchant’s house, St Giles Cathedral, John Knox House, and Canongate Kirk. At the very bottom on the Royal Mile, sits the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Royal family’s official residence in Scotland. The origins lie in the grounds of the royal residence, which was once attached to Holyrood Abbey (now a ruin), before returning you to your hotel.
