The balance of time inside and outside the van is per your request and of course there are many opportunities to take photos and collect souvenirs along the way. We will tell you the stories and history that make each attraction come to life!
Naturally with a tour that covers many sights in a day, there is longer driving times compared to a city tour, but our luxury minivans make the journey as comfortable as possible.
At 9am your guide will meet you at your Edinburgh accommodation. The door slides back as you enter your premium Mercedes Minivan for a day exploring many of the Outlaw King Filming locations from the capital city.
Craigmillar Castle
Craigmillar is Edinburgh’s ruined medieval castle was used multiple times in the film. Craigmillar is actually newer than the period of Roberts reign but fits in well.
Blackness Castle
Blackness Filming at Blackness near Edinburgh included the famous scene where during a cold snap an extra is suspended in a cage over the River Forth.
Linlithgow Palace
Linlthgow Palace was a halfway house between Edinburgh and Stirling castles. It was built after Robert the Bruce’s reign and lies in ruin, but it is an impressive building with an impressive view and is used as a location in the film.
Bannockburn
Bannockburn was an epic battle and major Scottish defeat in June 1314 , during the Scottish wars of independence. Today an immersive visitor centre exists near the battle site.
Stirling Castle
Once the Royal Seat of Scotland, Stirling has played a strategic role through Scotland's history. Robert The Bruce took back Stirling from the English after the battle of Stirling Bridge and the battle of Falkirk. An intimidating statue of Robert stands on the castle esplanade as a reminder of his force and reign.
Doune Castle
Doune is a fantastic 14th century medieval castle located in the small town of Doune. It. Doune has also been made famous in Outlander, Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Game of Thrones.
Dunfermline Abbey
Dunfermline Abbey is the royal mausoleum for many of Scotland’s greatest monarchs. Founded as a priory in 1128, it was made an abbey by David I of Scotland.

Tours are priced for the full vehicle (up to 6 passengers) and include all fuel, parking charges and the services of your driver guide. We also provide complimentary still & sparkling water. Access to Midhope Castle is included but all other locations are pay on entry. We recommend a Scottish Heritage Pass for access to included monuments.
