Aberdeenshire boasts more historic castles than anywhere else in the UK, none more famous than Balmoral Castle, the Scottish home of the Royal Family conveniently located next to the magnificent Royal Lochnagar Distillery, just one stop in this tour.
Just an hour from the Granite centre of Aberdeen lies the contrasting scenery of the Cairngorms National Park. In this park lies Royal Lochnagar Distillery, the only distillery to be given a Royal Warrant by Queen Elizabeth II in 1984.
It is a classic, 19th Century site retaining much of its original charm and tradition. A well bred dram, Royal Lochnagar doesn't dominate but instead offers a light and fruity personality that seems to sing louder when drank in the shadow if its namesake mountain, Lochnagar.
Based loosely on the Gaelic for "Foot of the Mountain" comes our second stop on the tour, Fettercairn Distillery. Recently acquired by Whyte and Mackay, Fettercairn has gone from strength to strength and has recently relaunched its brand, with a stunning new portfolio. Where better to learn all about it than in the presence of the unique stills that create it.
The famous Dinnies Stones lie outside the Potarch Hotel, just one potential stop for lunch along the stunning Deeside roads.
Tour Itinerary may change, depending on Distillery Operation hours and seasonal changes. Bespoke tours can he arranged on request.
