Explore Shetland's coastline from a sea kayak. No experience necessary. Weather permitting.

We do not have a schedule of trips. They are all arranged according to requests, the weather forecast and the sea-state. Locations are usually decided just a day or two before so we can have the best experience available on the day. If there is somewhere particular you would like to visit, let us know and we will try to get there.

This tour is aimed at those who are reasonably fit and who may have little or no experience in a kayak. Those who are more experienced will also enjoy our half day tours. Our trips are about exploring Shetland's coastline rather than travelling big distances.

We provide all necessary equipment, including waterproof trousers and jacket. You should wear clothes and shoes you don't mind getting wet, and take a change of clothes for after. You should also have a biscuit or sweet and something to drink with you.

You will receive some basic tuition on shore before going into your kayak, and receive further coaching on the water, if needed.

If conditions permit we will explore cliffs and caves, or we may explore along sheltered, inland waters. In either case your group will be accompanied by at least one qualified coach who will tell you something of Shetland's history and wildlife.

Tours may be morning, afternoon or evening (depending on daylight hours)

Opening times

We offer trips all year round, Monday to Saturday, during daylight hours. Weather is our main deciding factor. Strong winds may mean trips are postponed or cancelled
