Join the Swan in Lerwick, Shetland, and sail with us down to Orkney aboard our traditional wooden sailing vessel, disembarking in Kirkwall, Orkney. Along the way we may have time to call into Fair Isle or spend a night at anchor in Orkney.
Boarding Lerwick, 19th May, 6pm
Disembarking Kirkwall, 21st May, 4pm
The Swan is a joy to sail, which you can experience on this journey between the Northern isles of Shetland and Orkney.
With two nights aboard, depending on the weather, we may have time to call into Fair Isle or stop in an achorage in Orkney, such as Sanday, for an evening.
A voyage on Swan is very much a hands-on experience - you are part of her crew, and as such you can take your turn on the helm, stand watch with the rest of your watch-mates, adjust sails, do safety checks and help out with cooking aboard. Everyone mucks in, from skipper to first-timer, and from the most to the least experienced. This will give you a strong sense of accomplishment and achievement – you are part of what makes your voyage happen, and your efforts will have a positive effect on the rest of the crew onboard. For more details of what to expect on board please refer to our Welcome Aboard leaflet.
