Our Classic Scottish Tours are;
Tour 1 - The Grand Tour of Perthshire
A journey through some of the most spectacular and picturesque landscapes in Big Tree Country. Mountains, glens, lochs, sights and castles, this tour has them all. Scottish wildlife usually surprises but can be equally elusive.
Tour 2 - Strathmore and the Angus Glens
Take the roads less travelled through Angus to experience a different but dramatic Scottish landscape. Tour includes a visit to the fairy tale castle of Glamis, childhood home of the late HRH The Queen Mother.
Tour 3 - Skelping the Highlands
A spectacular sight seeing tour heading first towards the infamous Glenn Coe then a choice of either south along Loch Linnhe returning through Glen Lochy, or north to Glenfinnan and Ben Nevis and back through the ‘sinister’ Pass of Drumochter.
Tour 4 - Braemar, Balmoral and Deeside
Over the highest pass in Perthshire (the Cairnwell) to the highland village of Braemar then east to the Queen’s estate at Balmoral and nearby Crathie Kirk. (NB Access to Balmoral Castle is normally restricted to the period April to July)
Tour 5 - History and Heritage
This tour offers options to mix a choice of 'royal' and 'ecclesiastical' historical sites. The 'royal' theme visits Scone Palace, Glamis Castle and Falkland Palace, the 'religious' theme includes St Vigean's Museum, Arbroath Abbey and St Andrews Abbey.
Tour 6 - Scottish Icons
Modern Scottish Icons visted are the Forth Bridges, the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies. Bannockburn battlefield and the Wallace Monument represent the ancient. Time permiting there is also a photo stop at Scotland’s oldest distillery and the world famous Gleneagles Hotel.
Tour 7 - Cairngorm Country
The Cairngorm ‘hills’ surrounding Aviemore offer breathtaking scenery. Visit the Highland Folk Museum, Boat of Garten, Glenmore (reindeer), then ride up Cairn Gorm on the mountain railway (Spectacular viewpoint).
Tour 8 - Woody Walks, Water and Gardens
This partly ‘on foot' tour combines Big Tree Country’s extensive tree collections with a range of waterfalls, lochs and Scottish Gardens. Walk through the magnificent Scone pinetum and Blair Castle's Diana’s Grove with water displays at Queen’s View, Bruar Falls and Ossian’s Hall.
