Experience the Speyside Way - one of the most popular long-distance hiking trails in Scotland. Along the way you will visit stunning places such as the Cairngorms National Park, the Firth of Moray, Aviemore and Grantown-on-Spey.
The Speyside Way follows the course of the mighty River Spey, through remote countryside peppered with whisky distilleries, to the foothills of the towering Cairngorm mountains. From its mouth in the Firth of Moray at Buckie, the Speyside Way follows the river southwest to its destination in the popular holiday resort of Aviemore.
Along the 80 mile route (129 km) you will encounter a diverse mix of landscapes, from the spectacular rugged Morayshire coastline, through lush ancient forests and fertile farmlands in the lower parts of Speyside, to the heart of the majestic Cairngorms.
Spend an extra night in Aviemore and challenge yourself to climb some of the highest mountains in Britain or for a more relaxing experience, take a trip on the Strathspey Steam Railway.
