Stunning Sutherland Private Tour for up to 7 Persons

Collecting you from the place of your choice from around the Inverness area (or elsewhere by negotiation) we set off North from Inverness, will quickly find ourselves out in the beautiful Highlands countryside and travelling towards some of the most spectacularly scenic and unspoiled areas to be found in Europe. This popular tour includes Struie Scenic Route, Shin Falls, Dunrobin Castle, Loch Fleet, Dornoch, Edderton Old Church, and a tasting visit to one of the distilleries .

  • ·        Leaving Inverness we head North across the Black Isle enjoying the Stunning Panorama provide by the Ross-shire mountains as we drop down towards the Cromarty Firth where we travel along its shores on the A9 towards Alness and Invergordon

  • ·        Drive North through Struie scenic hill route to Bonar Bridge and head through the village towards Lairg

  • ·        Arrive at Falls of Shin, Achany which features a beautiful waterfall where there is a genuine chance of seeing wild salmon attempting to jump up the waterfal as they travel up the river during migration . There is also a nice little Cafe here and on some days local crafts on display and for sale in little retail units


  • ·        Leaving Achany we travel to Lairg and Rogart then onto Golspie and Dunrobin Castle    


  • ·        Dunrobin Castle, Golspie is a popular attraction which has a falconry display during the months of April - September .There is also a nice little cafe at this location providing meals, snacks and drinks


  • ·        Heading South we Drive through World Heritage Site Loch Fleet where if tide conditions permit we may see a seal colony and many birds including Ospreys  

  • ·        Continuing South we head into the Royal Burgh of Dornoch to eat, drink or shop


  • ·        Option - Visit Balblair Distillery

  • ·        Visit Edderton Old Church and the Celtic Cross Slab

  • ·        Option - Visit Glenmorangie Whisky Distillery    

Head South again along the Cromarty Firth and back across the Black Isle to Invernwss where the tour concludes   

Shopping opportunities

There are a number of quality shopping outlets throughout the routes taken on these tours including potteries, crafts, woollens, art, whiskey, confectionery and more. Just ask your driver

Refreshment Opportunities

There are a number of outlets throughout the route where meals, snacks and hot/cold drinks can be obtained including a cafe/restaurants at Shin Falls and Dunrobin Castle. There is also an independent roadside diner near to Dornoch which was popular with our customers last year. Fine dining is possible but impacts considerably upon time available for touring. The tour vehicle carries complimentary water and snacks.
