Join Sawyer & Sami on the Royal Mile with a detour to Victoria Street, the Grassmarket, and to Greyfriars Kirkyard. There are some nice surprises for fans of Harry Potter, Avengers, and Outlander. The tour ends outside the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

Our Wee Golden Walk I, covers the colourful and rich history of the Old Town in Edinburgh. The walking tour starts from the base of Edinburgh Castle and finishes at the bottom of the Royal Mile, by the Palace of the Holyroodhouse and the Scottish Parliament. The tour proceeds down the whole length of the Royal Mile, but it also includes a detour via Victoria Street to the Grassmarket and to Greyfriars Kirkyard. This detour is a delight for Harry Potter fans, but also adds many interesting historical stories to peek the interests of all travellers. The tour provides insights to many of the historical figures in Edinburgh that served as inspirations to not only Harry Potter books, but several other well-known stories as well…for example, like that of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Along the Royal Mile we discover the history of Edinburgh even further, which is sometimes described as haunted or gruesome. However, you will also be delighted to learn about many of the more heartwarming and positive stories as well. No need to worry if history is not your biggest interest because Edinburgh has a lot more to offer than just history! Our Wee Golden Walk I, also has wonderful surprises for Avengers and Outlander fans alike. Furthermore, once we descend towards the Palace, admirers of Mary, Queen of Scots, will be thrilled to see and learn about historic sites relevant to this heroine’s story.

Finally, please be assured that along the way will you not only be entertained and educated, but you will also get to know and enjoy the company of the sweetest dog in Scotland, Sawyer. Our tour guide, Sami, is also happy to answer any questions during and even after the tour. He can provide advice on sites and attractions to see during your visit, or if you wish to get recommendations on great places where to eat or to shop; or even on where to get the most memorable pictures of Edinburgh, for yourself, or possibly to share with the world on Instagram.

*Please note that our walking tour does not go into Edinburgh Castle or Holyrood Palace & Abbey as they are separate paid attractions.
