The ancient crofting village of Acharacle is just north of Salen at the eastern end of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula.
Surrounded by beautiful scenery, the village is a popular holiday destination with hill climbers. At the nearby Dorlin beach, perched atop a rocky promontory in the middle of nearby Loch Moidart, lie the ruins of Castle Tioram, one of Scotland’s most atmospheric historic monuments and whose Gaelic name means 'dry land'. You can reach the castle via a sandy causeway.
