Found on the north west coast on Mainland Orkney, Aikerness Bay boasts golden sand and beautiful views.
The Sands of Evie is found within Aikerness Bay, which overlooks Eynhallow and Rousay across the Eynhallow Sound. Shallow water can be paddled in when the tide comes in, and car parking and toilet facilities are available close by.
At the east end of Aikerness Bay is the Broch of Gurness, one of the most outstanding surviving examples of an Iron Age settlement in the north of Scotland. Discover Orcadian life over 2,000 years ago in the visitor centre which displays fascinating Iron Age artifacts.
