This attractive hillfoots hamlet between Stirling and Menstrie is one of Scotland’s earliest conservation villages, with striking buildings that date from at least the 17th century.
Tucked beneath the cliffs of the local hill Dumyat, the old village, or clachan as it’s known in Scots, has a pleasant central square with a burn running through it.
The Alexander Hume, most famous for Of The Day Estivall, was the Parish minister for Blairlogie from 1598 - 1609. More recently, the international star of Scottish Rugby Union Football Kenny Logan grew up at Powis Mains, farmed by the Logan family for over 100 years.
The Ochills provide a great range of walks, there is accommodation within the village and the nearby Coffee Bothy is a great place to stop for a coffee.
