Bosta Beach is located in the north of Great Bernera, an island connected to the Isle of Lewis by a bridge in the Outer Hebrides.
Enjoy strolling along the sparkling white shell sands of Bosta Beach, which has links with the Iron Age, the Vikings and the Highland Clearances. You can learn more about the island of Great Bernera at the Bosta Iron Age House which is located on Bosta Beach.
In 2010, Bosta Beach was chosen to take part in Marcus Vergette’s unique data recording project. The Time and Tide Bell is a permanent installation of 12 bells around the UK which ring when the sea is at high tide.
