Nestled in a secluded valley in beautiful Ayrshire countryside with the River Ayr flowing through its heart, the town offers great fishing in season.
Although now it is a sleepy byway, the town was previously well-known for its extensive cotton mills at the forefront of 19th century technology. You can find three convenience stores and three cafes in the village. One cafe includes a deli and another is run by a community trust. There are also several places to eat in Mauchline, just 2 miles away.
