The small village of Croftamie is situated to the south west of Drymen in the Loch Lomond Regional Park.

The present day village of Croftamie developed when the Balloch to Stirling railway line reached the village in 1857. Just outside the village are the substantial ruins of Buchanan Castle, a former stronghold of the powerful Grahams of Montrose, which dates back to the 17th century.

The small roads and tracks around the village are perfect for those who enjoy cycling and walking. There are also two golf courses near the village, the 9-hole course at Strathendrick Golf Club and a beautiful parkland course at Buchanan Castle Golf Club.

Sites of Special Scientific Interest near the village include the well preserved glacial landforms at Aucheneck on the Carnock Burn and the unique lamprey population at the Endrick area to the north of Croftamie.

Visitors to Croftamie will find a range of accommodation in the area including B&Bs and self-catering holiday cottages.
