Lindsayton Walk follows Lindsayton Burn through a series of delightful waterfalls and pools. It also offers an enchanting journey through a secluded wood, which is a wildlife sanctuary, and, if you are lucky, you may see herons and dippers feeding in the ponds. In the woods beside the burn, at the junction of the track to Balcamie, there are the remains of an old waulkmill.
Baroney Hill Walk passes through Falfrochar Glen and follows the burn downstream through marvellous woodland, which is home to roe deer, badger and fox. Then walking along the banks of the Water of Girvan, the path takes you by the massive, but derelict, Dalquharran Mansion.
On the other hand, Kilgrammie Walk provides an interesting outlook into the old mining industry that once thrived in the Dailly area.
Then there is Quarry Walk for a relaxed stroll with the family through conifer forests and passing the ruins of the Kilgrammie Colliery. Or, for the more ambitious walkers, Maxwellston Hill Walk that, once hiked to the peak, offers a breathtaking view of the Girvan Valley and the Ayrshire Coast.
Parking is available in the village square, where there is map for the trails in the area, and there are also some grocery stores. And, for any golfers, there is a gorgeous course and clubhouse that Kilgrammie Walk encircles.
The trails are well maintained and operated by South Ayrshire Council.
