Daliburgh (or Dalabrog in Gaelic) lies a few miles north east of Lochboisdale, South Uist's main settlement and ferry terminal.
In Daliburgh you’ll find a post office, supermarket, gift shops and various other businesses and services. For eating out you can visit the Burnside Chip Shop, or dine in the lounge bar at the Borrodale Hotel, which also sells jewellery.
The settlement is a good base to enjoy a range of activities on offer in the region including fishing, diving, golfing and birdwatching. The nearby Askernish Golf Course, originally designed by 'Old' Tom Morris, also attracts many visitors keen to test their skills against this challenging course.
Walking is a great way to explore the many historical and archaeological sites found here. The Kildonan Museum is just over 3 miles away, as is Flora MacDonald’s birthplace. There are also a number of fantastic beaches nearby.
