Famous as the birthplace of Scotland’s Braveheart, Sir William Wallace (1274–1305), this pretty village has plenty to offer visitors.
A memorial to Scotland’s national hero is made up of a series of sculpted plaques illustrating the key moments in Wallace’s career as Knight of Elderslie and Guardian of Scotland, set around a column reminiscent of a market cross. The village is also home to the award winning Butchers Steak & Grill and the popular Elderslie Golf Club.
