Glentress Forest is the gateway to the Tweed Valley Forest Park and is located only an hour's drive south of Edinburgh.

There are more forest trails in Glentress than in any other Tweed Valley forest making it the ideal base from which to explore the Forest Park.

The area is also famous for its 7stanes mountain biking trails - there are over 50 miles of purpose-built trails here. Glentress also boasts 5 fantastic walking trails, varied wildlife and rich history, both ancient and more recent. There are also options for horse-riding and orienteering.

Visitors can find out about all there is to see and do at the Tweed Valley Forest Park Gateway at Glentress Peel.

Facilities at Glentress Peel also include the 200-seat Glentress Peel Cafe, serving a mouth-watering range of snacks and refreshments, Glentress Peel Bikes which offers 150 bikes for hire and a range of bikes and accessories for sale, a Wild Watch centre, toilet, shower and changing facilities and additional car parking. Many of the trails also start from the Peel centre as well.
