One of the smallest lochs in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, it lies between Loch Venachar and Loch Katrine near the heart of the National Park.
It is a popular spot for anglers, given its sheltered locations and placid waters, who regularly fish for brown trout though the loch also holds sea trout, pike, perch and salmon. It is also popular with photography enthusiasts, with the calm conditions often yielding remarkable reflection shots on the water of the woodland areas surrounding the loch and Ben A’an and Ben Venue, the two largest hills nearby.
