Pierowall is the main village and harbour on the Orkney Island of Westray.
The Village is located to the north of the island at the head of Pierowall Bay. This is the largest settlement on the island and has ferry links with Papa Westray and Kirkwall. The Westray Heritage Centre occupies an old school in the centre of the village and gives a fascinating insight into many aspects of Westray’s past and present. To the west of Pierowall are the imposing ruins of Noltland Castle which dates from the 16th century. Just over seven miles to the south of the settlement is the Rapness ferry terminal which happens to be on the southernmost tip of the island.
