Situated at the sheltered south side of Loch Ewe, Poolewe is a neat but very attractive little village with a stunning location.
The village comprises a main street of largely white rendered buildings and is home to the beautiful, and surprisingly modern, St Maelrubha’s Church.
Around half a mile across the bay from Poolewe are Inverewe Gardens, a verdant oasis of foliage and riotously colourful flower collections, which is in contrast to the wild, heathery crags of the adjoining coasts.
