This small settlement village on Islay is home to a shop and a family-run hotel.
The Port Askaig Hotel overlooks the pier and its Port Bar, which dates as far back as the 16th century, is the oldest continually licensed premises on the island. The hotel is also home to a beer garden, the Snug Bar, and the Starboard Restaurant which offers bistro dining made from fresh, local ingredients. There is also an extensive range of Islay malts to choose from.
To the north of Port Askaig is Caol Ila Distillery, and 3.5 miles away is Bunnahabhain Distillery. Both welcome visitors and distillery tours are available.
