Stevenston is a town just inland from Saltcoats in north Ayrshire.
Named in the 12th century after landowner Stephen Loccart, the town grew in the industrial revolution, which saw the building of a dynamite factory in the late 19th century.
Stevenston, Saltcoats, and Ardrossan are three towns so close that they are practically a single town, and are known locally as "Three Towns". One of the highlights when visiting is a stroll along Stevenston Beach with its unique dunes.
There are several places to dine within Stevenston area, and a selection of local shops.
