Part of the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park in the beautiful Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, Achray Forest is the favoured starting point for most visitors to explore the woodland in the area.
The David Marshall Lodge visitor centre in the Achray Forest offers exception views of Ben Lomond, Campsie Fells and Loch Ard Forest as well as a café and shop. It is also the home of the award-winning Go Ape! high wire forest adventure course. It has one of the longest zip wires, measuring 426m, as well as rope ladders, Tarzan swings, trapezes and stirrup crossings some 40ft above the forest floor.
Achray Forest is also ideal for wildlife spotting. Wetlands between Loch Venachar and Loch Achray, known as the Blackwater Marshes, offer great opportunities to watch birds such as the greylag, gooseander teal and wigeon.
