Ballachulish is the ideal location as the base for your holiday. Beautiful walks, scenic drives, exciting activities and great places to eat all within a short distance. The bedrooms which are all en-suite have cosy duck feather duvets, tv, alarm clock, hairdryer, Fair Trade hot drink making facilities and Highland Soap Company bathroom products.You are welcome to use the Lounge at any time where you will find maps and books about the area. Free WiFi available. Breakfast is served from 7.30am - 9.00am in the Breakfast Room.
Changes at Fern Villa due to COVID-19

Whilst we would love to throw open our doors and have a house full of guests again, sadly this is not possible at the moment, due to Covid-19, as your safety is our priority.
We are having to make some adjustments how we run Fern Villa by following Government protocols and to ensure we do all we can to protect you, the Community and ourselves.
We will be opening from the 17th May 2021on a reduced basis, providing the Scottish guidelines don't change. This is to allow us to proceed slowly and to ensure social distancing can be managed successfully and comfortably for both you, our Guests, and ourselves.
Limited opening will allow us to develop a set of systems to thoroughly clean and disinfect the whole house.
In the event that we need to close either during your stay or before your arrival date we will help you to try and find alternative accommodation in the area. However, we will not be liable for any costs arising from this.

Please can every guest scan the Test & Protect QR code on arrival.
A check in time slot will be agreed to avoid parties being in the common areas at the same time.
Keys will be sterilised and left in your bedroom door.
We have installed a hand-sanitiser unit in the hall, please use this when coming into the house and when going out.
Please remove outdoor footwear in the porch.
Please be conscious of social distancing at all times when on the premises for your safety and other guests.
A check out time slot will be agreed to avoid parties being in the common areas at the same time.
We would prefer contactless payment eg by BACS before arrival. However if you prefer to use the card machine this will be sterilised before and after use.
We request that all bin bags are tied and that the window is left open.
Keys should be placed in the room door on departure.
We can not store luggage after 11.00am.

We have removed the Guest Information folder, we will email you a Guidebook prior to your arrival.
We have removed scatter cushions, throws and blankets. If you would like an additional blanket please let us know and we will deliver it to your bedroom door.
Please let us know if you would like a kettle and cups. Please also ask us for coffee, tea, hot chocolate and sugar sachets. We can supply fresh milk.
Please bring your own toiletries with you. If you have travel bottles we will be happy to top these up for you with Highland Soap Co. products:

We will provide antibacterial hand washing soap.
Please ask if you require a hairdryer.
Please leave the window open as often as you can, especially when you go out for the day.
For best practice we will not enter your room during your stay, unless you specifically request that we service your room. If you require a bin change please tie a knot in your bin bags and leave outside your door between 9am and 11am. If a towel change is required please inform us at breakfast so we can provide you with a bin bag to put them in, please tie up the bin bag and leave outside your door between 9am and 11am. We will knock on your door with clean towels and bin bags. We will leave antibacterial wipes in the bathroom for you to wipe it round if you wish.
If a maintenance visit is needed this will be arranged when you are out of the property where possible, unless an emergency.
The Guest Lounge can be booked on arrival if available.
There will be 2 breakfast sittings 7.30am - 8.15am and 8.30am - 9.15am. There will be a maximum of 2 tables seating 2 people at each sitting. Your table can be booked the night before.
Once you are seated your breakfast will be served to your table. Please leave your dirty crockery on the table.
We have removed the condiments from the table please ask us what you would like and we will bring these to you.
As normal you will book your breakfast the night before.

Please be assured we are following detailed government and industry guidelines on cleaning protocol to protect our guests and ourselves and are happy to provide full details on cleaning policies on request.
In brief all surfaces and items in the common areas will be washed down with soapy water before being sterilised on a daily basis. Surfaces that are touched more regularly eg the bannister will be done more often.
All guest rooms are cleaned, sanitised and sealed before guest arrival.
All sanitising stations will be cleaned and stocked daily.
It is requested that guests go out for the day by 11.00am and return after 3.00pm in order that we can safely clean and sterilise the house.
Bedding will be washed at the maximum of manufacturers instructions.
Towels will be washed at the maximum of manufacturers instructions.
We have removed all the information leaflets. There is a QR code to scan for you to download the leaflets.
Due to social distancing cafes/restaurants may have limited seating. Where possible book a table in advance.
Please follow the guidelines given by shops.
Personal Protection Equipment
The Glencoe Petrol Garage (Claymore Ltd) have a good range of masks, gloves, wipes etc.
To stay safe, to protect others and to save lives you should remember FACTS:
Face coverings in enclosed spaces, including public transport
Avoid crowded places
Clean your hands and surfaces regularly
Two metre social distancing
Self-isolate and book a test if you develop corona virus (see below)

Test and Trace
The opening up of the economy following the COVID-19 outbreak is being supported by NHS Test and Trace. Please assist this service by making sure that we have a record of the name and contact details of the lead member of the party, which will only be passed on to the NHS if necessary
Guests displaying signs of the Covid-19 Virus
If you are displaying signs of the Covid-19 virus* while staying with us, you should inform us immediately, self-isolate in your room to minimise any risk of transmission, and request a test by calling NHS 119 If it is confirmed that you have Covid-19, you should return home if you reasonably can. You should use private transport but only drive if you can do safely. If you cannot reasonably return home (for example because you are not well enough to travel or do not have the means to arrange transport), your circumstances should be discussed with an appropriate health care professional and, if necessary, the local authority.
We will follow government guidance on dealing with possible or confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.
Once the guest has returned to their main residence, they should continue to follow the government guidance on self-isolation, household isolation and social distancing.
We will wear full protective clothing to clean the room 72 hours after check out. The room will not be relet for another 72 hours.
If you cannot return home, you will be expected to pay for all costs incurred
Amongst other things this would include the going rate of additional days spent at Fern Villa.

A high temperature
A new continuous cough
A loss of or change of sense of smell or taste
Please consider taking out travel insurance even if you are travelling from elsewhere in the UK
