'Gairloch View' is situated on the North East coast of Skye with magnificent sea and mountain views, overlooking Gairloch on the mainland and nestling below the famous Quiraing Mountain.
The bed & breakfast accommodation is a large en-suite family room with a double bed and two single beds. There is ample room for an extra bed if required. The bedroom, guest lounge and the breakfast room all have sea views. The guest lounge has an open peat fire.
Our Serviced Apartments have been newly refurbished to a high standard. They have two bedrooms, a double and a twin (two single beds), lounge with freeview TV, dvd and cd/radio, Wi-Fi available, a fully equipped kitchen with fridge freezer, washing machine & dishwasher and bathroom with overbath electric shower.
Our Luxury House, Lachie's House is a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom property, with 2 king size beds both en-suite and a twin room with 2 single beds, the bathroom is beside this room with a bath & separate shower cubicle. Lounge with log burning stove, tv, dvd, & i-pod dock. Lachie's House has been newly renovated to a very high standard.
The Cottages & Lachie's House can be rented on a weekly basis or a short stay basis where you can stay in our cottages or Lachie's House where continental breakfast groceries are provided for your breakfast in the morning. Minimum stay in one of our self catering properties is 2 nights.
There are 4 restaurants nearby: Columba 1400, The Kilmartin Cafe, Glenview Pie Cafe and Flodigarry Hotel. All highly recommended for their excellent food.
There are 2 shops nearby: Staffin Stores Supermarket open 9am - 6pm Monday _ Saturday, a Mini Supermarket owned by the Community and The Village Shop, open from 9am - 6pm Monday to Saturday and 11am - 4pm on Sunday, The Village Shop also sells petrol & deisel both shops are well stocked for all your needs. The Village shop also does takeaway food during the day.
This part of the Island has the most spectacular scenery as it is along the coast. The sun rises over Gairloch across the water and sets over the Western Isles which can be seen from Staffin Beach or Duntulm.
Gairloch View is an ideal base for walking, with The Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing Mountain Walks, the Trotternish Ridge, Rubha Hunish, Brothers Point to name but a few in this area, there are sea eagles nearby and you can usually see dolphins, minke whales and basking sharks in the waters around this area.
Take a walk to the fossil beach, visit the healing loch, walk along the shore to Staffin Beach where you can look for the dinosaur footprints,enjoy the bird life whatever your preference there is something for all.
